The path to Joy and Spiritual Optimism, "Why is God Laughing?" by Deepak Chopra/Kerry Armstrong

In Why is God Laughing?, the story of Mickey, a comedian who hides his troubles behind a wall of wisecracks, becomes ours as D. C. gives us 10 reasons to be optimistic in a challenging world. Rich with humor and sound advice, he demonstrates that there is always a reason to be grateful, and that obstacles are opportunities in disguise.

Simple and practical, The Circles encourages us to better understand the relationships in our lives by listening to our feelings. Readers ask such questions as "How does this person make me feel?" "Do I trust them?"  Throught-provoking and beautifully illustrated, this distinctive work provides the opportunity to discover and liberate feelings about friends, family and most of all - oneself.

How do you respond to suffering?

Suffering along the way in life is a witness. To observe ones pain and implore it. To offer love and solace when available. Whenever I extend pity, I notice the reinforcment to it. Pity sees the suffering as a 'mirror' of victimhood. And if you see people as victims, how are they to escape without valiant efforts from a supernatural force?
'You thus reinforce their sense of powerlessness, which crushes the very knowledge that will help them escape. With powerlessness, thy must reach for help with every trial that they manifest.( They become weak, dependent, and fearful.) And we are the 'unmanifest.'  So much better to reinforce their inner power than their sense of powerlessness!
So take them home, lend a hand and lead them by showing them the strength within. This is so much misunderstood, but among the mysteries of the universe, we must acknowledge the all-loving and compassion and endless light  we have within.
